Service Description

All Ages 5 and Up All levels ︎Genres: Classical/Bel Canto, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, R&B/Soul Ahou Yasmine is a lyric soprano and LA-based soloist. She loves to teach vocal technique for singers of all ages and levels within a holistic approach to free the vocal instrument. Ahou's teaching approach is influenced by principles of the Alexander Technique and she values a whole-body approach to the voice that has been a game-changer in her own singing. Lessons are fun and empowering as students learn to support the voice with breath support and increased body awareness. She teaches voice to new and seasoned singers alike of all ages in classical, musical theater, jazz, blues, and contemporary genres. Ahou has been a frequent soloist with the LA-based vocal arts group Artes Vocales chorale and LA Chamber Orchestra for several years, where she has performed solos including Mozart’s Requiem and Laudate Dominum, Vivaldi’s Magnificat, Schnittke’s Requiem, Witches in Verdi's Macbeth, as well as French art songs, Gilbert & Sullivan arias, and musical theater repertoire. Ahou has performed with the Young Men’s Ensemble of the Los Angeles Children's Chorus, California Philharmonic and San Francisco Lyric Opera as opera chorus. She has also recorded a demo of songs, including a cover of Kate Bush's Army Dreamers as well as her own original music. She is a versatile crossover singer and loves singing art songs to jazz and musical theater to baroque pop. She has studied and performed Shakespeare as well as contemporary plays with Contra Costa Civic Theater and Golden Thread Productions. She also coaches acting and dialects.
